LGBTQ+ Sensitivity Training in Travel

LGBTQ+ Sensitivity Training in Travel

The world we live in is beautifully diverse and your training should reflect that. This includes sexual and lifestyle diversity. To succeed in business today, your teams need training in LGBTQ+ workplace issues, awareness, communication, respect and more.

Taking to the PROUD Experiences’ stage in New York City, Ed Salvato and Billy Kolber from HospitableMe present a tailored version of their sensitivity training class, Everyone Welcome.

Ed Salvato (@EdSalvato)

Ed is co-author of the Handbook of LGBT Tourism & Hospitality Marketing: A Guide for Business Practice distributed by Columbia University Press. He’s also chief content officer of gay consumer-focused ManAboutWorld travel magazine available via the App Store and in Google Play. Ed is an adjunct instructor at NYU’s Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality, teaching LGBTQ+ tourism & hospitality marketing.

Billy Kolber (@billykolber)

Billy is the founder of HospitableMe, and a leading voice in the LGBTQ+ travel industry. He co-founded OUT&ABOUT, the first gay + lesbian travel magazine in the US, and ManAboutWorld, one of the first mobile-only magazines of any kind. He and his team provide education and training to empower destinations and brands to provide more inclusive, authentic and welcoming service to diverse travellers.
